Is possible to use NIRS on Visual Cortex and acquire a good data?
On this Experimental Design we are presening a scientific paper published in 2017 that was the first time that NIRS was used to acquire the hemodinamic activity from the visual cortex.
Not all fNIRS systems are capable of measuring this area of the head, due to the challenges posed by hair and thickness of the skull in this region. However, NIRx systems are, and have successfully done so in many publications. Because of the high quality data produced by NIRx systems, due to efficiently designed headgear and superior hardware, including APD detectors, high signal quality can be achieved in this region.
This presentation contains the fNIRS system used, the Optodes disposition, the Visual Task and the results of the paper.
