The modified BeerLambert law parameters that will be used for the online computation of oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin is shown in the image below.
Again, these parameters are only used for online data visualization and will not affect the data stored by Aurora. Aurora always stores raw voltage data (V).
Please follow the steps below in order to install Aurora fNIRS
1. Run the Aurora fNIRS Installer. Confirm that the application is allowed to make changes to the device if this is requested by Windows.
2. Follow all steps until installation is complete. It is recommended to choose the default installation folder.
3. Complete the installation by clicking the Finish button. Note: Please refer to the next section “Device Setup” before running the software.
4. Upon first running Aurora fNIRS, make sure the software is allowed full network access by configuring Windows Firewall.
The NIRSport2 device can connect to Aurora fNIRS either via USB or via Wi-Fi. Regardless of mode, ensure that the device is powered on by holding the power button for several seconds. A bright green light will indicate the device is turned on.
Note that NIRSport2 battery does not charge while data acquisition. Make sure that the device is fully-charged before running a measurement.
Connect the NIRSport2 device to the PC running Aurora with the provided USB cable. When the device is connected via USB for the first time Windows will automatically download and install the necessary drivers. A working internet connection is needed at this time.
